1. The Alchemy and Neuroscience of Conversations
Speaker: Judith Glaser, CEO/Chairman, Benchmark Communications, Inc.

The key to success in life and business is to become a master at Conversational Intelligence. It’s not about how smart you are, but how open you are to learn new and effective powerful conversational rituals that prime the brain for trust, partnership, and mutual success.

Conversational Intelligence translates the wealth of new insights coming out of neuroscience from across the globe, and brings the science down to earth so people can understand and apply it in their everyday lives. Author Judith E. Glaser presents a framework and methodology for knowing what kind of conversations trigger the lower, more primitive brain; and what activates higher-level intelligences such as trust, integrity, empathy, and good judgment. Conversational Intelligence makes complex scientific material simple to understand and apply through a wealth of easy to use tools, examples, conversational rituals, and practices for all levels of an organization.

This workshop will explore the Alchemy and Neuroscience of Conversations.

Through advances in neuroscience we can see inside the brains and minds of people when they are experiencing different emotions. What is so astounding is the dramatically different ‘brain landscape’ that shows up for people who are in fear and distrust states, compared to those who are in states of joy, happiness and trust. What this incredible comparison in our brain’s activity is showing us is so profound that it is changing the very foundation of how leaders lead.

The Alchemy of Conversations will enable CPA’s to understand where trust and distrust networks live inside our brain – how to activate trust, and how to understand the powerful neurochemical impact trust can have on expanding our capacity to be successful in business and in life.

5. G2: Building the Next Generation
Speakers: Philip Palaveev, CEO, Founder, The Ensemble Practice

The single highest priority for the independent financial advisory industry today should be the development of the next generation of professionals (“G2”). G2s are not just succession instruments. Instead they are the key to growth, the portal to replenishing a younger client base, the new experts and very importantly the future leaders of advisory firms. Unfortunately, many firms struggle to develop their own G2 talent. Founders are excellent professionals and entrepreneurs but they are not skilled coaches and trainers.

Philip Palaveev’s presentation draws on his new book “G2 – Building the Next Generation” to provide guidance to both founders and G2s on the needs of the next generation and the path to development of skills such as business development, leadership and management. The presentation draws on Philip’s experience as a consultant and as the founder of the G2 Leadership Institute.
