Key Topics

  • The Executive Summary will provide key findings uncovered in this year's survey and can serve as a foundation for partners to better understand their firm's metrics relative to performance against peer groups. Understanding the trends and benchmarking data through the narrative, graphs and tables in the Executive Summary will provide actionable insight into where the profession is going and will empower all firms to identify areas where they are performing well, as well as areas that need improvement.

AICPA's Private Companies Practice Section (PCPS) partners with CPA.com on the National MAP (Management of an Accounting Practice) Survey, which was fielded from mid-May through July 2018. The summary provides financial and other key benchmarking data from the survey.

Benchmarks are included for key performance indicators (such as billing rates, chargeability ratios, compensation, etc.) and are broken down by firm size and region, so you can make meaningful comparisons with your own data. The survey also examines common policies and procedures to identify current and developing trends in practice management. Purchasers will receive copies of the report in both downloadable PDF and Excel formats.
