Aging is a life transition that only accelerates as we grow older. An estimated 10,000 baby boomers will turn 65 each day for the next decade. These are many of your clients and their parents. Are you prepared to address this client groups unique and growing concerns?

The Elder Planning Online Conference will focus on those life transitions that result from aging.

Consider that:

  • Older clients will face new challenges and consider financial decisions they have never had to make before, such as finding and paying for long-term care, financing health care, housing decisions, and appropriate and current estate planning documents.
  • Their uncertainty, combined with the complexity of the issues, and a significant life impact all lead to an increased demand for your planning services in this area.
  • Sudden crises can occur that require major financial decisions to be made quickly; planning in advance can make these decisions better and less stressful.
  • Client conversations around these issues go beyond just the financial facts and can require new advisor skills to fully meet client needs.
  • Starting these conversations early can be one of the most important planning activities you do with your clients, their parents, and their children.

When problems like these arise, clients often turn to the CPAs they know and trust. And CPAs—even those who aren't financial planners—are better-equipped to help them than they might realize. The more planning you can do with your clients before they face these issues, the more valued and respected resource you will be, and the better off your clients and their families will be.
